A RESOLUTION TO REVISE THE CHARTER
FOR THE TOWN OF ROCK HALL

Resolution of the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Rock Hall, Maryland, adopted pursuant to the authority of
Article 23A, section 13, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, 1957 Edition as amended, entitled "Municipal
Corporation", to revise and amend the Charter of Rock
Hall, the said amendment to make the following changes:

1.    Section #3 — "The Council". Change "five
councilmen" to read "five members".

2.     Section #11 - "The Council". Change Section 37
to read Section 35.

3.     Section #44 — "General Powers". Change
"Constables" to read "Deputy Sheriff".

4.     Section #21 - "General Powers". Change "the
right of appeal within ten days to the Circuit Court" to
read "the right of appeal within ten days to the Circuit
Court or District Court, as may be applicable".

5.    Section #22 — "Registration, Nominations, and
Elections". Change (b) "is at least twenty—one years of
age" to read "is at least eighteen (18) years of age".

6.     Section #22 — "Registration, Nominations, and
Elections". Change (c) "has resided in the State of
Maryland for at least one year" to read "has resided in
the State of Maryland for at least six months".

7.     Section #29 - "Registration, Nominations,     and
Elections". Add "Any person desiring to withdraw   his
candidacy must do so seven (7) days prior to     the
election."

8.     Section #35 — "Registration, Nominations,     and
Elections". Add "In the event of a resignation by   the
Mayor or any Councilman, he shall submit the same     in
writing to the Clerk-Treasurer."

9.     Section #39 - "Finance". Add "The Mayor and
Council may also appoint such assistant Clerk—Treasurers
as they may deem necessary."
