AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR OFFICE OF MAYOR AND COUNCILMAN
Amendment to Section 3—7 and Section 3—9

WHEREAS, a petition has been received by the Mayor and
Council asking that the age requirements for office
of Mayor and Councilman be lowered to 21 years of
age;

[Sections 3-7 and 3-9 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Prince George's County, repealed and reenacted,
with amendments.

RESOLUTION - PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT NO. 3-75

Amending Article 3—8(b) of the Town Charter
pertaining to the appointment and removal
power of the Mayor and Town Council.

BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Bladensburg, that Article 3-8(b) of the Town Charter
pertaining to the Mayor, Appointments, be amended to
read as follows: "All office, department and agency
heads shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor and
Town Council. All subordinate officers and
employees of the offices, departments and agencies
of the Town Government shall be appointed and
removed by the majority vote of the Mayor and Town
Council in accordance with rules and regulations in
any merit system which may be adopted by the
Council. "

Prince George's County, repealed and reenacted, with
amendments.
