2872 EXECUTIVE ORDERS
PROCLAMATION OF SEPTEMBER 26, 1975
FLOOD DAMAGE EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, I, Marvin Mandel, Governor of the State of
Maryland, have been advised and informed that heavy
rainfalls occurring on September 24, 25, and 26,
1975, have resulted in severe flood damage over
extensive areas of the State of Maryland; and
WHEREAS, Said flood damage was widespread in the State of
Maryland, and most severe in Anne Arundel,
Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Frederick, Harford,
Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's, and Washington
Counties; and
WHEREAS, Said flood damage has resulted in the
destruction of or damage to many highways and
bridges, schools, other public buildings and
facilities, homes, and other public and private
property, and has required the evacuation of
hundreds of Maryland residents, in these counties;
and
WHEREAS, Said destruction, damage, and forced evacuations
significantly affect the safety and welfare of the
citizens of Maryland, particularly in the
aforementioned counties;
NOW, THEREFORE, Pursuant to the authority vested in me by
the Constitution and laws of the State of Maryland,
including, but not limited to Article 16A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, and the Maryland
Disaster Assistance Plan adopted by Executive Order
of September 26, 1975 pursuant thereto, I, MARVIN
MANDEL, GOVERNOR OF MARYLAND, HEREBY PROCLAIM THAT A
STATE OF EMERGENCY EXISTS IN ANNE ARUNDEL,
BALTIMORE, CARROLL, CECIL, FREDERICK, HARFORD,
HOWARD, MONTGOMERY, PRINCE GEORGE'S AND WASHINGTON
COUNTIES.

WHEREAS, By Executive Order dated October 24, 1974, I
approved the Maryland Disaster Assistance Plan
prepared by the Maryland Civil Defense and Emergency
