Union since World War II; and

WHEREAS, The Soviet Union will attempt to obtain the
recognition by the European Security Conference of its
annexation of these nations; and

WHEREAS, The United States Delegation to the
European Security Conference should not agree to the
recognition of the forcible conquest of these nations by
the Soviet Union; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
this Body urges the United States Delegation to the
European Security Conference not agree to the recognition
by the European Security Conference of the Soviet Union's
annexation of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and that it
should remain the policy of the United States not to
recognize in any way the annexation of the Baltic nations
by the Soviet Union; and be it further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to
Delegate Paul E. Weisengoff, House of Delegates Building,
Annapolis, Maryland, for distribution.

A House Joint Resolution concerning

Full Employment Act of 1976

FOR the purpose of urging the Maryland Congressional
Delegation to support [[the]] a Full Employment Act
[[of 1976 (United States HR 50) ]] providing for
equal opportunity for useful paid employment for all
adult Americans able and willing to work.

[[United States Representative Augustus F. Hawkins
(D-Cal.) has introduced a major piece of legislation, HR
50: Equal Opportunity and Full Employment Act.]]

The need for [[such]] a [[law]] Full Employment Act
is revealed, starkly, in the figures which assault us
with almost daily regularity - — growing unemployment,
diminishing gross national product,. sharply reduced
public services. Rising in giant leaps, unemployment is
fast approaching 8 percent of the work force, and much
higher for youth, older persons, and others. Truly, it.
is a national disaster. At best, current public service
employment authorizations will provide jobs for fewer
than one in ten of the currently unemployed. The
