In 1970 the U.S. Commission Product Safety
Commission issued a list of toys which were not safe for
children.
This list was of great help to both consumers and
vendors in determining which toys they wished to purchase
or offer for sale.
It may be several years until a national
certification procedure for safe toys is developed; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is requested
to continue issuing annually a list of unsafe toys , to
be supplemented every 90 days, until a national
certification procedure becomes effective; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to
the President of the United States; to the Consumer
Product Safety Commission, Executive Director, Stanley
Parent, 5401 Westbard Ave., Bethesda, Maryland 20207; and
to the Members of Maryland's Congressional Delegation:
Senators Charles McC. Mathias, Jr. and J. Glenn Beall,

A House Joint Resolution concerning
Solar Energy
FOR the purpose of requesting the Governor to appoint a
Commission to make recommendations to the General
Assembly by the 1977 Legislative Session that would
further the State's effort in developing a solar
energy program.
WHEREAS, The impact of the energy crisis upon the
nation, the State of Maryland and her several
subdivisions which reached dramatic proportions during
the Arab boycott and the concurrent rise in oil prices,
