The Department of Natural Resources has recently
developed marine facilities at Sandy Point State Park for
recreational use during the popular summer months.
However, these facilities are minimally utilized during
the months from September through April; now, therefore,
be it

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the Secretary of Natural Resources is directed to
investigate the feasibility of permitting our historic
and hardworking Skipjack fleet and commercial watermen
to utilize the marine facilities at Sandy Point State
Park during the oyster season; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to
the Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources.

A Senate Joint Resolution concerning

Food Stamps

FOR the purpose of requesting the [[Department of Human
Resources to study the feasibility of implementing]]
United States Department of Agriculture to implement
a "standardized change" for food stamp recipients to
use in certain retail outlets.

WHEREAS, Food stamp coupons are issued in $1.00,
$5.00 and $10.00 denominations; and

Purchases made with food stamp coupons at certain
retail outlets rarely equal the amount of coupon
denominations; and

Food stamp recipients cannot accept money for the
difference between the price of the purchase and the
monetary value of the food stamps which is due a food
stamp recipient; and

The food stamp recipient must either return items,
produce exact amount of difference between the price of
the purchase and the monetary value of the food stamps
which is due the food stamp recipient or accept receipt
that is redeemable only at that particular retail outlet;
and

It would be to the advantage of the food stamp
recipients if they were able to redeem their receipts at
any retail outlet that accepts food stamp coupons for
