AGAINST THE PROPERTY AND THE SAME PROCEDURES AS SET FORTH
IN SUBSECTION 164 (L) OF THIS SUBTITLE SHALL BE FOLLOWED
BY THE COMMISSION IN COLLECTING THOSE DEBTS.

170.    Connections with other systems.

The [said] Commission shall have full power and
authority to enter into any contract for the connection
of its water supply[,] OR sewerage [or drainage] system
or any part thereof with any publicly or privately owned
system, for the purchase or sale of water and for the
collection, treatment and disposal of sewerage [and other
drainage], and to enter into any other agreement
concerning any other matter and on such terms deemed by
the Commission to be necessary, advisable or expedient
for the proper construction, maintenance and operation of
the water supply[,] OR sewerage [or drainage] systems
under its control, or those under the control of any
public[,] or private body.

171.   [Same; acquisition.] OTHER SYSTEMS; ACQUISITION,
GENERAL.

(a) Purchase. [Whenever said commission shall
have extended its water supply or sewerage system up to
and is ready to connect with any municipally owned or
privately owned water supply or sewerage system, and it
deems it advisable and proper for the adequate operation
of the system under the jurisdiction to take over the
said water or sewerage system,] WHENEVER THE COMMISSION
CONSIDERS IT ADVISABLE AND PROPER FOR THE ADEQUATE
PROVISION OF WATER OR SEWER SERVICE IN ANY SANITARY
DISTRICT TO ASSUME OWNERSHIP OF PRIVATELY OWNED WATER OR
SEWERAGE SYSTEMS, it may purchase [the same] THEM upon
such terms and conditions as may be agreed upon, but
shall have no right of condemnation with respect thereto,
but before any part of the purchase price is paid, other
than a nominal sum of money to bind the agreement, it
shall be the duty of the vendor or agent to furnish a
statement to [said commission] THE COMMISSION setting
forth all names and addresses of persons having any
interest or claims against [said] THE property
whatsoever, which shall be verified by an oath in
writing. Thereupon it shall be the duty of [said] THE
Commission to notify personally or by registered or
certified mail, return receipt requested, all persons
having any interest whatsoever in [said] THE property,
and in addition thereto the Commission shall give three
weeks' notice of its intention to purchase [said] THE
property in a newspaper or newspapers published within
[said] THE county [where] IN WHICH the property is
located, and each person having any claim whatsoever
against [said] THE property shall file his, her, or its
claim with [said] THE Commission on or before the
expiration date mentioned in [said] THE notice, at which
time any and all persons will be heard and their rights
determined by the Commission, which [said] hearing shall
be final.
