BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article — Natural Resources
Section 8-408 (a) and 8-409(b)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1974 Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 8-408 (a) and 8-409 (b) of Article
- Natural Resources, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1974 Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and [[it is]] they
are hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

Article — Natural Resources

3-408.

(a) That segment of the Youghiogheny River between
Millers Run and the [western] SOUTHERN CORPORATE limits
of Friendsville shall be designated a wild river.

8-409.

(b) In addition to the other regulatory

authorities provided by this subtitle and due to the
unique character of the Youghiogheny River the Department
shall adopt rules and regulations after review by the

local advisory board and the Scenic and Wild Rivers

Review Board, by [December 1, 1975] JANUARY 31, 1977, to

regulate use and development in that segment of the

Youghiogheny River designated in Section 8—408(a) and
adjacent land areas within the scenic corridor where
development would affect the primitive qualities and
characteristics of the Youghiogheny River.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
health and safety and having been passed by a yea and nay
vote supported by three—fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT concerning
