SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 36D(e) of Article 77 - Public
Education, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1975
Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

Article 77 — Public Education

36D.

(e) The members of the board shall have the
following terms. The three members who receive the
greatest number of votes in the general election of 1974
shall have four—year terms. The two members who receive
the next highest number of votes in the general election
of 1974 shall have two-year terms. The terms of the
board members elected in the 1974 general election shall
commence on January 2, 1975. Each member elected to the
board after the 1974 election shall have a four—year term
commencing on the second day of January following his
election. If the date for the commencement of the term
