with the aggregate of the funds herein and heretofore
appropriated for that purpose. This appropriation is
exclusive of any Federal funds; however, in accordance
with Section 9 of this Act, the using institution shall
apply for the maximum Federal Grant, and should any
Federal funds become available for this project they
shall serve to reduce this appropriation, "contingent
upon acceptance of the task force report by the Governor
and the Legislative Council concerning the adoption of
additional and innovative methods to maximize the use of
existing facilities to increase the student body of the
University of Maryland School of Medicine, especially in
the training of general
practitioners".........[11,087,300] 10,367,300 to
supplement the appropriation "Construction of a school of
medicine teaching facility...." as shown on page 306 of
the Acts of 1973; Section 8 of Chapter 195 of the Acts of
1973 being hereby modified to the extent that said work
may begin upon satisfactory assurances to the Board of
Public Works that said project can be completed with the
aggregate of the funds herein and heretofore appropriated
for that purpose..........1,994,000 FOR EQUIPMENT FOR
SCHOOL OF MEDICINE TEACHING FACILITY; SECTION 8 OF
CHAPTER 195 OF THE ACTS OF 1973 BEING HEREBY MODIFIED TO
THE EXTENT THAT SAID WORK MAY BEGIN UPON SATISFACTORY
ASSURANCES TO THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS THAT SAID PROJECT
CAN BE COMPLETED WITH THE AGGREGATE OF THE FUNDS HEREIN
AND HERETOFORE APPROPRIATED FOR THAT PURPOSE...720,000.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect June 1, 1976.

AN ACT concerning
The General Construction Loans of 1972, 1974 and 1975
FOR the purpose of waiving the provisions of Section 10
of Chapter 179 of the Acts of 1972 and Section 10 of
Chapter 289 of the Acts of 1974, said sections
relating to the time by which projects contained in
the General Construction Loans of 1972 and 1974 must
be placed under contract, insofar as the provisions
of said Sections relate to an item contained in
Chapter 179 of the Acts of 1972 for the final phase
construction of Matapeake Multi—Use Field Station
