(2) "Motor vehicle" means any Class A
passenger new or used motor vehicle, ANY CLASS P VEHICLE,
and any Class E vehicle up to and including 3/4 ton or
Class G vehicle up to 35 feet in length which is designed
or used for human habitation or camping or recreational
purposes, but it excludes antique motor vehicles as
defined elsewhere in this article, except that the
definition includes any class of motor vehicle, trailer
or semitrailer for the purpose of issuing warnings for
defective equipment and mechanisms as provided in §
13-104.

13-106.

(a)    Before the Department registers and titles any
used motor vehicle, it shall require the applicant to
present a certificate for the vehicle issued as provided
for in this subtitle not more than 90 days prior to the
date of application for title and registration.

(b)   If any person, otherwise entitled to title and
register a motor vehicle in this State, purchases a used
motor vehicle in another state and makes application for
titling and registration in Maryland, the Department may
issue but withhold title pending receipt of the
certificate as defined in § 13—101 of this article and
issue temporary registration upon presentation of
satisfactory evidence that the motor vehicle is located
in another state. Any registration issued pursuant to
this subsection shall not extend beyond the current
registration year and in no event shall such temporary
registration be valid after 6 months from the date of its
issuance. A vehicle for which temporary registration
has been issued as provided herein shall be inspected
immediately upon its return to this State.

(c)   The provisions of subsection (a) of this
section shall not be applicable to motor vehicles sold or
transferred within 30 days after the seller or transferor
has had the vehicle inspected at an approved facility as
indicated by the dates on the certificates filed with the
title records of such vehicles at the Department.

(D)    BEFORE THE ADMINISTRATION REGISTERS ANY
VEHICLE AS A CLASS P MOTOR VEHICLE, IT SHALL REQUIRE THE
APPLICANT TO PRESENT A CERTIFICATE FOR THE VEHICLE ISSUED
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS SUBTITLE NOT MORE THAN 30 DAYS
PRIOR TO THE DATE OF APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION. A
CERTIFICATE SHALL BE REQUIRED FOR ANY INITIAL
REGISTRATION AS A CLASS P VEHICLE AND FOR EVERY YEARLY
RENEWAL REGISTRATION OF ANY VEHICLE AS A CLASS P VEHICLE.

(E)    BEFORE THE ADMINISTRATION REGISTERS ANY
VEHICLE AS A CLASS P MOTOR VEHICLE, IT SHALL REQUIRE THE
APPLICANT TO PRESENT A CERTIFICATE FOR INSURANCE FOR THE
VEHICLE AND ITS OCCUPANTS IN AN AMOUNT AT LEAST EQUAL TO:
(1) FIVE TIMES THE MINIMUM COVERAGE REQUIRED IN ARTICLE
