thereafter as possible pursuant to the provisions of
subsection (d) of this section.
(2) Number of Vestrymen. Unless otherwise
provided by the bylaws of the parish pursuant to the
provisions of subsection (e) of this section, the vestry
of a parish shall consist of nine members, each serving
for a period of three years, except as provided below in
this subsection.
(3) Initial Terms of Vestrymen. At the
first election after June 1, 1957, the three members
receiving the highest number of votes shall serve as
members of the vestry for a term of three years; the next
three receiving the next highest number of votes shall
serve a term of two years; and the next three members
receiving the next highest number of votes shall serve a
term of one year.
(4) Subsequent Terms. Thereafter, three
members of the vestry shall be elected annually to serve
for a term of three years.
(5) "Tie" Vote. If the number of votes for
a member shall be the same as the number of votes for
another member, then the member who has been an enrolled
member of the parish in which the votes are cast for the
longest period of time shall be declared elected.
(6) Eligibility for Reelection. The
vestrymen whose three—year terms shall have expired shall
not be eligible for reelection until after the expiration
of at least one year.
(7) Sector a Member of Vestry. The rector
shall always be a member of the vestry.
(8) Election Pursuant to Bylaws. If the
parish has adopted the alternative method for the
election, number, qualifications and tenure in office of
vestrymen as prescribed by subsection (e) of this
section, then the vestrymen shall be elected in
accordance with the procedure adopted by the bylaws of
the parish.
(c) Report of rector and vestry prior to election;
questioning rector and vestrymen; treasurer to furnish
registrar with names of contributors; inspection of
treasurer's account books.
Before the annual election of vestrymen shall begin,
the rector and vestry shall report to the qualified
voters present, either orally or in writing as to them
may seem most expedient, such of the proceedings,
transactions and other affairs, which transpired during
the preceding parochial year, as are deemed to be
necessary and appropriate, to inform the voters of the
status of the parish, including the attendance record of
