AN ACT concerning

Unlawful Housing Practices — Exemptions

FOR the purpose of extending the exemption from certain
provisions relating to discrimination on the basis
of marital status alone.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 49B — Human Relations Commission

Section 22

Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 22 of Article 49B - Human
Relations Commission, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1972 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and it
is hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

Article 49B — Human Relations Commission

22.

It shall be an unlawful discriminatory housing
practice, because of race, color, religion, sex, national
origin, marital status, or physical or mental handicap,
for any person having the right to sell, rent, lease,
control, construct, or manage any dwelling constructed or
to be constructed, or any agent or employee of such
person:

(1)  To refuse to sell or rent after the making
of a bona fide offer, or to refuse to negotiate for the
sale or rental of, or otherwise make unavailable or deny,
a dwelling.

(2)   To discriminate against any person in the
terms, conditions, or privileges of sale or rental of a
dwelling, or in the provision of services or facilities
in connection therewith.

made, printed, or published any notice, statement or
