AN ACT concerning

Protestant Episcopal Church — Diocese of Easton

FOR the purpose of transferring to the Session Laws the
laws of this State relating to the Protestant
Episcopal Church — Diocese of Easton, commonly known
as the "Vestry Act. "

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments, for the
purpose of transferring from the Code to the Session
Laws

Article 23 — Corporations

Sections 298 through 312, inclusive

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1973 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 298 through 312, inclusive, of
Article 23 - Corporations, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1973 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be
and they are hereby repealed and reenacted, without
amendments, for the purpose of transferring them from the
Annotated Code of Maryland to the Session Laws, to read
as follows:

298. Definitions.

(a)   Generally.

As used in this subheading the following terms shall
have the following meanings except as otherwise expressly
provided or may result by necessary implication:

(b)   Assistant priest or minister.

"Assistant priest or minister" means the clergyman
appointed to assist the rector, and includes an associate
rector, curate, and a vicar, where appropriate.

(c)   Bylaws.

"Bylaws" means the rales or laws authorized by
statute to be adopted by a parish or separate
congregation for the government of its affairs to the
extent the parish or separate congregation may choose.

(d)   Cathedral council.

Repealed by Acts 1966, ch. 564, § 2.

(e)   Church.

"Church" means the building in which divine worship
