CHAPTER 673

(House Bill 737)

AN ACT concerning

Garrett County — County Commissioners Election Districts

FOR the purpose of altering the allocation of election
districts for the office of County Commissioner in
Garrett County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

The Public Local Laws of Garrett County
Section 7—2(a)

Article 12 — Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1971 Edition, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 7-2(a) of the Public Local Laws of
Garrett County being Article 12 of the Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1971 Edition, as amended) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

Article 12

7-2.

(a) For the purpose of electing County
Commissioners, Garrett County shall be divided into three
County Commissioners' Districts, as follows:

(1)    The first County Commissioners' District
shall be composed of the First, Fourth, Tenth, Twelfth
[and] Thirteenth AND SIXTEENTH Election Districts.

(2)    The second County Commissioners'
District shall be composed of the Second, Third, Fifth,
Sixth, Ninth, Eleventh and Fifteenth Election Districts.

(3)    The third County Commissioners' District
shall be composed of the Seventh, Eighth[,] AND
Fourteenth [and Sixteenth] Election Districts.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
health and safety and having been passed by a yea and nay
vote supported by three—fifths of all the members elected
