AN ACT concerning

Montgomery County — Alcoholic Beverages
(Damascus — 12th District)

FOR the purpose of permitting in Montgomery County the
sale of alcoholic beverages in a certain election
district; clarifying language and structure; and
submitting this measure to a certain referendum.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 2B — Alcoholic Beverages

Section 37 (a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1968 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 37(a) of Article 2B - Alcoholic
Beverages, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968
Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

Article 2B — Alcoholic Beverages

37.

(a) In Montgomery County, [no] A license for the
sale of alcoholic beverages authorized by this article
[shall] MAY NOT be issued for any place of business
located in any one of the following election districts or
towns of [said] THE county:

(1)         Laytonsville (1st district),

(2)         Clarksburg (2nd district),

(3)        Darnestown (6th district), [and
Damascus (12th   district), and the towns of]

(4)    Kensington,

(5)    Takoma Park, [and]

(6)    Washington Grove[.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That before
this Act becomes effective it shall first be submitted to
a referendum of the legally qualified voters of the 12th
election district, at the general election to be held in
