of this article shall be punished by a fine of not more
than $500 or by imprisonment for not more than 2 months
or by both fine and imprisonment.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1976.

AN ACT concerning
Election Code — Fair Election Practices
FOR the purpose of allowing the filing of a single
affidavit in lieu of periodic campaign fund reports
in certain cases; establishing daily late filing
fees for certain persons for the late filing of
certain reports; extending failure to file under
certain circumstances to include incomplete forms;
requiring that certain prior reports be filed and
fees be paid before a person may become a candidate
or treasurer; requiring administrative notification
of possible referral for prosecution when certain
reports or statements are overdue or not filed;
providing for investigations and hearings, under
certain circumstances, by the State Administrative
Board of Election Laws and directing, upon proper
determination, certain penalties for certain
violations by elected public officials; relettering
and renumbering in certain instances; clarifying
language; providing for the effective date of this
Act; and generally relating to fair election
practices.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 33 - Election Code
Section 26-11(a) and 26-13
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 26-11(a) and 26-13 of Article 33
- Election Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and they are
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
