BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments
[[Section 465]] Sections 465, 553 and 554
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 461, 462, 462A, [[464, 553 and
554]] and 464 and the [[subtitles "Rape" and "Sodomy"]]
subheading "Rape" of Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments,
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement
Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and they are hereby
repealed:

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments

[Rape]

461.

[Every person convicted of a crime of rape or as
being accessory thereto before the fact shall be
sentenced to confinement in the penitentiary for not less
than eighteen months nor more than the period of his
natural life; and penetration shall be evidence of rape,
without proof of emission.]

462.

[If any person shall carnally know and abuse any
woman child under the age of fourteen years, or knowingly
carnally know and abuse any woman who is an imbecile, non
compos mentis or insane, of any age whatever, every such
carnal knowledge shall be deemed felony, and the offender
being convicted thereof shall at the discretion of the
court suffer imprisonment in the penitentiary for not
less than eighteen months nor more than the period of his
natural life. ]

462A.

[If any female over the age of eighteen years shall
carnally know any male, not her husband, under the age of
fourteen years, such carnal knowledge shall be deemed a
misdemeanor and, upon conviction, the offender shall be
imprisoned for a period not to exceed eighteen months or
be fined a sum not to exceed $5,000.00, or both.]

464.

[If any person shall carnally know any female not
his wife, between the ages of fourteen and sixteen years,
such carnal knowledge shall be deemed a misdemeanor and
the offender being convicted thereof shall be punished by
imprisonment in the house of correction for a term not
