AN ACT concerning

Criminal Records - Records Excluded from Expungement

FOR the purpose of exempting certain records from the
definition of "court records" as that term is
defined in regard to the expungement of criminal
records; and reorganizing the arrangement and style
of expression of the definition of court records.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 735 of Article 27 - Crimes and
Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments

735.

(a)    In this subtitle, the following words have the
meanings indicated.

(b)    "Court records" means all official records
maintained by the clerk of a court or other court
personnel pertaining to a criminal proceeding. It
includes indices, docket entries, charging documents,
pleadings, memoranda, transcriptions of proceedings,
electronic recordings, orders, judgments, and decrees.
It does not include:

(1) Records pertaining to violations of the
