AN ACT concerning

Cecil County — Election Board Salaries

FOR the purpose of altering the salaries paid the Cecil
County Election Board; prohibiting certain other
compensation under certain circumstances, but
permitting certain other compensation; clarifying
language; and prohibiting the salary increase from
affecting the incumbent Board members,

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 2-3 (a) (8) of Article 33 - Election
Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement
Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 33 — Election Code

2-3.

(a) Each member of the boards of the several
political subdivisions of the State shall receive an
annual salary of not less than the following amounts:

(8) Cecil County:

(I) [[chairman]] PRESIDENT [$900.00;]

$1,250.
each.

(II) associate members [$750.00] $1,000

(III) MEMBERS MAY NOT BE GIVEN
ADDITIONAL SALARY OR EXPENSES FOR OTHER COMPENSATION
GENERATED BY VIRTUE OF ACTIVITIES OR ELECTION MATTERS
WHICH OCCUR IN THE COUNTY, BUT MAY BE COMPENSATED FOR
ACTUAL EXPENSES INCURRED IN ACTIVITIES WHICH OCCUR OUT OF
THE COUNTY.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of this Act shall not be construed to extend
or apply to the salary of the Cecil County Election Board
in office on the effective date of this Act, but the
provisions of this Act concerning the salary of the Cecil
County Election Board shall take effect at the beginning
