CHURCH.

REVISORS'S NOTE: This section is new language
derived without substantive change from Art.
23, § 313(a).

It is set forth as a separate section for
emphasis.

Throughout this part, the term "United
Methodist Church" is substituted for

"Methodist Church" to conform to the current
nomenclature of the Church.

5-322. INCORPORATION.

A RELIGIOUS CORPORATION SUBJECT TO THIS PART MAY BE
INCORPORATED ONLY IN CONFORMITY WITH THE DISCIPLINE OF
THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, AS AUTHORIZED AND DECLARED
BY THE GENERAL CONFERENCE OF THAT CHURCH.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 23, §
313(a).

5-323. MEMBERS.

THE MEMBERS OF A RELIGIOUS CORPORATION FORMED BY A
CHURCH UNDER THIS PART ARE THE MEMBERS OF THE CHARGE
CONFERENCE OF THAT CHURCH.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 23, § 313(b).

The term "charge conference" is substituted
for "quarterly conference" to conform to the
current nomenclature of the Church.

The only other changes are in style.

5-324. TRUSTEES.

(A)       ELECTION OF TRUSTEES.

THE TRUSTEES OF A METHODIST CHURCH, WHETHER OR NOT
IT IS INCORPORATED, SHALL BE ELECTED BY ITS CHARGE
CONFERENCE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DISCIPLINE OF THE
UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, AS AUTHORIZED AND DECLARED BY
THE GENERAL CONFERENCE OF THAT CHURCH.

(B)       TRUSTEES AS DIRECTORS.

AS TO A RELIGIOUS CORPORATION SUBJECT TO THIS PART,
THE TRUSTEES OF THE CHURCH SHALL BE THE DIRECTORS OF THE
RELIGIOUS CORPORATION.
