"TRUSTEES" MEANS:

(1)    AS TO A RELIGIOUS CORPORATION SUBJECT TO
PART II OF THIS SUBTITLE, THE CORPORATORS APPOINTED OR
ELECTED AS PROVIDED IN THAT PART; AND

(2)    AS TO A RELIGIOUS CORPORATION SUBJECT TO
PART V OF THIS SUBTITLE, THE MEMBERS OF THE VESTRY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Item (1) of this subsection is new
language added to clarify the references in
this Part to trustees as they relate to the
"corporators" referred to in Part II of this
subtitle.

Item (2) of this subsection is new language
derived without substantive change from Art.
23, § 275(c).

5-301.1. SCOPE OF PART.

EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS SUBTITLE OR IN
ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW, THIS PART APPLIES TO EVERY
RELIGIOUS CORPORATION FORMED IN THIS STATE BY ANY CHURCH.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language added
to clarify the scope of this Part, which
applies to religious corporations of all
denominations except for those subject to
specific Vestry Acts and similar legislation
or as otherwise qualified by Parts II through
V of this subtitle.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Sections
271 through 275, inclusive, 313, and 314 of Article 23 —
Corporations of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1973
Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and they are
hereby repealed.

SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Parts II, III, IV, and V be and they are hereby added to
Title 5, Subtitle 3 of Article—Corporations and
Associations of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1975
Volume and 1975 Supplement) to read as follows:

5-314. SCOPE OF PART.

THIS PART APPLIES TO     EVERY RELIGIOUS CORPORATION

FORMED IN THIS STATE BY        A CONGREGATION OF THE

DENOMINATION OF CHRISTIANS      KNOWN AS THE ROMAN CATHOLIC
CHURCH.
