Annotated Code of Maryland

(1975 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 6-601 of Article 1A - Aviation, of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume
and 1975 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Section 6—601 be and it is hereby added to Article 1A —
Aviation, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968
Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) to read as
follows:

Article 1A — Aviation
6-601.

(A)    EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN THE RULES AND
REGULATIONS OF THE ADMINISTRATION, EACH AIRCRAFT OWNER
SHALL REGISTER WITH THE ADMINISTRATION EACH AIRCRAFT THAT
HE OWNS AND BASES OR HANGARS IN THE STATE.

(B)    (1) AN ANNUAL APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION
SHALL BE MADE IN THE MANNER THAT THE ADMINISTRATION
SPECIFIES.

(2)           THE ADMINISTRATION MAY CHARGE AN      ANNUAL

REGISTRATION FEE   NOT EXCEEDING 1.5 CENTS PER POUND   OF THE

MANUFACTURER'S        GROSS WEIGHT FOR THE AIRCRAFT      BEING
REGISTERED.

(3) THE ADMINISTRATION ANNUALLY SHALL ISSUE
A REGISTRATION DECAL FOR EACH REGISTERED AIRCRAFT. THE
CURRENT REGISTRATION DECAL FOR AN AIRCRAFT SHALL BE
DISPLAYED IN THE MANNER THAT THE ADMINISTRATION
SPECIFIES.

(C)    A PERSON MAY NOT OPERATE ANY AIRCRAFT THAT IS
REQUIRED TO BE REGISTERED UNLESS THE AIRCRAFT CURRENTLY
IS REGISTERED. THE ADMINISTRATION OR THE MARYLAND STATE
POLICE MAY SEIZE ANY AIRCRAFT IN THE STATE THAT IS
REQUIRED TO BE REGISTERED AND IS NOT AND MAY HOLD THE
AIRCRAFT UNTIL ITS OWNER COMPLIES WITH THE REGISTRATION
REQUIREMENTS.

(D)    THE ADMINISTRATION MAY ADOPT RULES AND
REGULATIONS TO IMPLEMENT THIS SECTION.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Sections
9A(a) and (g) of Article 81 — Revenue and Taxes, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1975 Replacement Volume and
1975 Supplement) be and they are hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
