USER IN MARYLAND ANY MOBILE HOME THAT IS MANUFACTURED
AFTER JANUARY 1, 1973 UNLESS IT BEARS THE INSIGNIA OF THE
DEPARTMENT OR IS CERTIFIED AND LABELLED UNDER THE MOBILE
HOME CONSTRUCTION AND SAFETY STANDARDS ACT.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1976.

AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws — Abandoned Vehicle Sales

FOR the purpose of providing that proceeds from sales of
unclaimed abandoned vehicles exceeding the cost of
sale revert to the political subdivision holding the
sale rather than the Abandoned Vehicles Fund.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 11-1002.2(d) of Article 66 1/2 -
Vehicle Laws, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970
Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

11-1002.2.

(d) (1) If an abandoned motor vehicle has not
been reclaimed as provided for in subsections (a) and
(b), the police department shall sell it at public
auction. The purchaser of the motor vehicle shall take
title to the motor vehicle free and clear of all liens
and claims of ownership, shall receive a sales receipt
from the police department, and shall be entitled to
