LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 422

(c)    "First user" means any person, firm or
corporation initially installing factory-built buildings
within Maryland. A person who subsequently buys a
building which wholly or partially consists of an
industrialized building is not a first user within the
meaning of this definition.

(d)    (1) "Industrialized building" means a
building assembly or system of building subassemblies,
including the necessary electrical, plumbing, heating,
ventilating and other service systems manufactured in its
entirety, or in substantial part, offsite and transported
to the point of use for installation or erection, with or
without other specified components, as a finished
building or as a part of a finished building comprising
two or more industrialized building units.

(2) "INDUSTRIALIZED BUILDING" DOES NOT
INCLUDE A MOBILE HOME.

(e)    "Install" means the assembly of an
industrialized building on site and the process     of
affixing an industrialized building OF MOBILE HOME     to
land, a foundation, footings or an existing building.

(f)    "Local enforcement agency" means any agency of
the governing body of any city or county which enforces
laws or ordinances governing the construction of
buildings.

(g)    (1) "Mobile home" means [an industrialized
building unit designed for continuous year—round
occupancy as a dwelling, which is constructed on a single
chassis for towing to the point of use, and which is
originally designed to be used without a permanent
foundation and to be readily removable from its original
site. "Mobile home" does not include any industrialized
building unit of which the floor area is designed to be
expanded on site by more than one—third its unexpanded
floor area. A "mobile home" shall not lose its character
hereunder by reason of removal of its wheels or its
placement upon a permanent foundation.] A STRUCTURE THAT
IS:

(I)         TRANSPORTABLE IN ONE OR MORE
SECTIONS;

(II)       EIGHT OR MORE BODY FEET IN WIDTH
AND 30 OR MORE BODY FEET IN LENGTH;

(III)     BUILT ON A PERMANENT CHASSIS; AND

(IV)       DESIGNED TO BE USED AS A DWELLING,
WITH OR WITHOUT A PERMANENT FOUNDATION, WHEN CONNECTED TO
THE REQUIRED UTILITIES.

(2)         "MOBILE HOME" INCLUDES THE PLUMBING,

HEATING,AIR-CONDITIONING, AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS
