Section 4-706
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1974 Volume and 1975 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 4-705 (c) of Article - Natural
Resources, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1974 Volume
and 1975 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(c) [The] IN NOVEMBER OF EACH YEAR, THE Department
shall mail blanks to apply for renewal of license to each
licensee at the address given in his most recent
application or to any other address he designates in
writing subsequent to filing an application. [These
blanks shall be sent by registered or certified mail in
November, and the] THE mailing constitutes sufficient
notice and warning THAT the license expires on December
31 of the same year.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
4—706 of Article — Natural Resources, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1974 Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and
it is hereby repealed:

(a) A commercial net fishing license to set any
pound net, haul seine, fyke net, or hoop net issued under
this subtitle may be transferred whenever the owner of
the nets, boats, gear, and other equipment necessary for
their operation, sells and conveys them by bill of sale
for a bona fide consideration to any person eligible to
use the license under the provisions of this subtitle.
The Department may transfer and issue a new license valid
for the remainder of the license year, if the outstanding
license is surrendered, and after the new owner executes
an application and pays a $5 transfer fee. A new license
may not be issued if the outstanding license is suspended
or revoked at the time of the transfer.
(b) A commercial net fishing license to set a gill
net may be transferred only to the surviving spouse,
father, brother, sister, son, or daughter of the licensee
or to any person who has earned a part of his livelihood
by fishing either for or with a licensee for at least
three months during the year immediately preceding the
transfer of the license as provided in subsection (a)
with the approval of the Department.]
