SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
[[shall take effect July 1, 1976]] is hereby declared to

be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate

preservation of the public health and safety and having

been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by

three—fifths of all the members elected to each of the

two Houses of the General Assembly, it shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

AN ACT concerning

State House Trust — Composition

FOR the purpose of permitting the Chairman of the
Maryland Historical Trust to name any one of certain
individuals as his designee to the State House
Trust.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 41 — Governor—Executive and

Administrative Departments
Section 407(a)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1975 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 407(a) of Article 41 -
Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and
1975 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 41 — Governor—Executive and
Administrative Departments

407.

(a) The restoration and preservation of the State
House shall be the responsibility of the State House
Trust which shall be comprised of the Governor of
Maryland, the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the
House and the chairman of the Maryland Historical Trust
OR HIS DESIGNEE WHO SHALL BE A TRUSTEE OR THE DIRECTOR OF
THE TRUST OR THE STATE HISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICER,
acting as trustees for the citizens of Maryland.
