MESSAGE TO THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES

By Senator Staten:

Ladies and Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message, notifying the Senate
of the organization of your Honorable Body, and
requesting the appointment of a joint committee to wait
upon the Governor and inform him that the General
Assembly is now prepared to receive any communications
which he may desire to make.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate,
Senators Welcome and Steers.

The Senate has organized by the election of the
Honorable Steny H. Hoyer as President.

The Secretary of the Senate is Oden Bowie, pursuant
to the provisions of Section 80 of the Rules of the
Senate of Maryland.

Read and ordered journalized.

ORDER

By the Speaker:

ORDERED: by the House of Delegates of Maryland, That
for the Special Session of May 12, 1975, the House with
one exception, adopts the Rules of the House of Delegates
in force as at the end of the Regular Session of 1975.

The exception is that all introductory tills,
whether House Bills or Senate Bills, shall be initially
referred to the House Committee on Rules.
