      Att which Second Court vizt. ye 24 Day of June Annoq Domi. 1701 ye
Day of ye returne of Said Second writt Came Elias King high Sherf. & made
returne thereof in these words vizt.    Cepi Corpus      Elias King Sherf.
But a Copie of ye Decln. being Sent along with ye writt was as followes vizt.
Kent County    Ss    Nicholas Clouds otherwise Called Nicholas Clouds of Said County Gentn.
in Maryland    was Sumoned to Answer unto Michael Earle one of ye Attorneys of

   of this Court according to ye liberties & previledges Accustomed of A

   A plea that he render unto him ye full Sume of Six hundred pounds

   of good Sound Merchantable Tobo in Casque which to him he oweth

   & from him Unjustly Detaines
And whereupon ye Said Michael Earle in his proper person in prosecution of ye Afsd. action
Saith that whereas ye Said Nicholas on ye 27. day of Augt. Annoq Domi. 1700 in Said County
within ye jurisdiction of this Court by his certaine bill or writing obligatory Sealed wth. his Seale as
his act & deed delivered & here in Court brought whose date is ye Same day & yeare did bind
himself his heires Exrs. Adrs. to pay or cause to be paid unto ye Said Michael ye Afsd. Sume of
Six hundred pounds of Tobo. quallified as Afsd. convenient on Chester River in Sd. County at
or upon ye Tenth Day of October next ensuing ye Date of ye Same bill yet notwithstanding
ye Said Nicholas ye Said Sume of Six hundred pounds of Tobo. According to ye Tenr. of
ye Same bill unto ye Said Michael he hath not paid although often demanded but ye Same
to pay he hath denyed & refused & Still doth deny & refuse and Unjustly detaine to ye
damage of ye Said Michael Twelve hundred pounds of Tobo. & thereupon he brings
this Suite                 Earle    prpa prsona    pledg &a.               Jno Doe
                                                                                              Rd. Roe

But ye Said Nicholas Clouds comes into Court in his proper person & Confesseth
Judgemt. for ye Said Sume of Six hundred pounds of Tobo. & Cost of Suite
Therefore it is considered by ye Court here vizt. this Twenty fifth Day of
June Annoq Domi. 1701 That ye Said Michael Earle Plaintf. doe recover from
ye Said Defendt. Nicholas Clouds as well ye Sume of Six hundred pounds of Tobo.
Debt as alsoe ye Sume of Two hundred Seaventy and one pounds of Tobo. cost of
Suite & ye Said Nicholas Clouds in Mercy                 Jno Dowdall Clk

Comand was ginve to ye Sherf. of Kent County ye 28 Day of March Annoq Domi.
1701 That he Take Patrick O?Bryan alius dictus Patrick O?Bryan of Kent County
in ye Province of Maryland Taylor if found in his bailiwick & him Safe keepe Soe
that he have his bodie before his Majties. Justices at ye next Court to Answer unto
Mecajah Perey Thomas Lane Richard Parey & John Debailehash of a Plea that he
render them ye full & just Sume of nine hundred Eighty & Two pounds of good
Sound CLeane Tobo. which &a.
Att which next Court vizt. ye 24 day of June Annoq Domi. 1701 ye day of ye return[e]
of Said writt came Elias King high Sherf. of Said County & made returne thereof in
these words vizt.                      Non East.                 pr Elias King Sherf.
