58 June Court 1701 James Bradley Son to James Bradley Decd. by & with ye Consent and Approbacon of his Mother is bound by ye Court To Thomas Hix & his wife until[l] (in case ye Said Thomas & his wife or either of them doe live Soe long) untill he arive at ye age of Twenty one yeares being now yeares of age And ye Said Thomas Hix doth oblidge himselfe to Teach give ye Said James Bradly Two Cows & Calves when free Jno Dowdall Clk Read ye Peticon of Darby Sulivan as followeth To ye Right worshipfull ye Comrs of Kent County in ye Province of Maryland The humble Peticon of Darby Sulivant Sheweth That yr. peticonr. being A Servant to Morgan Browne and having brought an Indenture dated the Tenth Day of May 1697 from our droping Anchor in Petuxon River and runing for noe more than four yeares from ye Ensuing date but your peticoner having by Misfortune lost my Indentures ye Said Morgan Browne my Master would make your peticonr. Serve five yeares altho yr. peticonr. can bring Suffitient evidence that my Indentures was for noe more than four yeares yr. peticoner therefore desires your worships to take it into Consideracon and yr. peticoner as in duty bound Shall ever pray The which peticon being read & by ye Court duly Considered It was ordered That ye Said Peticoner Darby Sulivant Doe Serve his Said Master Morgan Browne ye Space of foure yeares According to Indentures & noe longer Jno Dowdall Clk Ketherine Roger Servant to Henry Green being presented for having A base borne Child and ye Said Prsentment being framed into A bill of Indictment ye Said Ketherine now Appeares and Submitts to ye Court and being Examined who was ye father of her base borne Child Declares that Arthur McDaniel is ye father of base her ^ borne Child Ordered Therefore that ye Sherf. of this County doe Take ye Said Kethering into his Custody and Carry her to ye Whiping post & give her fourteen Lashes upon ye baire back well Laid on Jno Dowdall Clk But ye Said Henry Green comes into open Court & Assumes ye payment of ye fine of ye fine of ye Said Ketherine Roger And ye Said Ketherine her punishment is Remitted Read ye Peticon of William and Joan Halse Two of ye orphants of Abram Halse late of This County Decd. vizt Kent County To ye Worshipfull ye Comissrs of Kent County now Sitting The humble peticon of Wm & Joane Halse Humbly Sheweth That whereas yr. Two peticoners being left orphans did chuse last Novemr. Court Mr. Danll. Muligin & his wife for theire guardians for them untill they came of age or day of marge whereupon yr. petitconers were thought fitt by yr. worships for to be bound unto ye Said Danll. Mullikin & his wife for ye tearme & time following Wm was bound for Seaven yeares and Joane was bound for four yeares |
