[28] Febry Court 1700 Which presentmt. was framed into An Indictmt. by ye Clk of ye Indictmts. as followes Vizt. Kent Ss The Jurrors for our Soveraigne Lord ye King that now is for ye Body of Kent County upon theire oathes doe prSent Arthur Foreman alius dictus Arthur Foreman of Kent County planter for that he ye Said Arthur At Chester Hundred in Kent County within ye jurisdiction of this Court ye Seventeenth day of Apll. Anno Domi. 1700 wth. force & armes one hogg of ye price of three hundred kill pounds of Tobo in ye woods there being felloniously he did ^ Steale & bear away against ye peace of our Lord ye King and against ye forme of ye Act of Assembly in Such Cases made & provided
men of his bailiwick to Try ye Issue Joyned to which ye Sherf made Answer he had there ready Twelve &a. as by his prcept he was Comanded Vizt. Thomas Wyatt foreman Thomas Gwin Edward Plestoe George Powell Thomas Ford John Jhonson Thomas Browne Nicholas Massey William Robinson Nathanll. Cleave John Ossley and Jacob Young which Jury being duly tryed & Sworne & having heard ye pleadings Evidences and Allegacons on both Sides ye Court giveth them theire Charge who withdraw to Consider on ye prmisses and After Some time doe againe returne and being againe Called over and being Demanded whether ye Said Arthur Foreman was Guilty or not Guilty as he Stands Indicted doe Say wee ye Jury Say he is not Guilty as he Stands Indicted and by Thomas Wyatt theire foreman all of them Soe Say Therefore it is Considered by ye Court here that ye Said Arthur Foreman as to ye Said Indictt. goe thereof without day he paying his fees Jno Dowdall Clk But ye Said Arthur Foreman by Michll. Earle his Attry moves the Court that ye Said Arthur Foreman may be Cleared by proclamacon which was granted Ordered therefore by ye Court that ye Said Arthur Foreman be Cleared by proclamacon wch. was prformed Accordingly Jno Dowdall Clk The Court Adjournes till 7 A Clock to morrow morning Febry ye 13. 1700 The Court againe mett According to Adjournemt.
The Court proceeds to ye Laying ye and Assessing ye rates of liquors which were Assessed as formerly Ordered by ye Court that ye Clk of this Court Issue out a Sums. for Jno Tilliard to Appeare here at ye Next Court to Answer ye Complaint of Jno Walls Jno Dowdall Clk Edwd. Fry being [presented b]y ye Grand jury last Novemr. Court for denying to Creditt William Sigley w[ch pr]Sentmt. was Signed billa vera which was framed into A bill of Indictmt. by ye Clk of ye Indictmts. as follows Vizt. Kent Ss The Jurors for our Lord ye King that now is for ye body of Kent County upon theire oathes doe present Edward Fry of ye Said County Inholder for that he ye Said Edwd. having A Lawfull lycence to keep an ordinary or house of Entertainment at uper Langfords bay hundred in Said County within ye jurisdiction of this Court ye Twenty Eight Day of Novemr.
