[73]                                          Sepr.    Court    1701
John Bond having acknowledged ye Crime was Sent by ye Said Justices to ye Sherf
of this County & comitted into his Custody untill this Court who now apeares & being
againe questioned about ye premisses declares that he is alltogeather inocent of ye Crime
& that those that comitted ye fact were Sailers belonging to ye Same Shipp he belonged to &
after ye offence was found out that they threatned to run away & leave ye Ship but he
having A Regard for ye owners & Sailers Scarce & ye voyage Should Suffer promied them if
”they would Stay he would take ye Matter upon himselfe
Which being Considered of by ye Court & they of oppinion that he had declared ye truth
It was Considered that ye punishmt. due for Such a Crime be remitted & that ye Said
John Bond doe pay twenty Shillings Currant Money of this Province for ye four fold &
ye fees Accrewing & that he be cleared                                          Jno Dowdall Clk

Mathew Collier of this County Smith comes into Court & proves an Acct. ast. Richard Parnes [?]
late of this County Decd. for ye Sume of Two hundred Sixty & one pounds of Tobo

John Loyd comes into Court & acknowledgeth himselfe Justly Indebted unto our Soveraigne
Lord King Wm ye Third his heires & Successors in ye full & just Sume of Twenty pounds
Sterg. to be leavied upon his goods & Chattles lands & teniments condiconed he make not his
personall appearance at ye next Court & be of good behaviour & a bearance to all his Majties
leidge Subjects in ye meane time likewise came Michael Earle his Security & acknow-
:ledgeth himselfe Justly Indebted unto our Said Lord ye King in ye Sume of Tenn pounds
Sterg. to be leavied as Afsd. Condiconed as Afsd. wherewith they are content

Peregrine Browne    Comand was given to ye Sherf. of Kent County ye 18 day of June
ast    Annoq Domi. 1701 that he Take Edward Rush if found in his
Edward Rush    bailiwick & him Safe keepe Soe that he have his body before our

   Justices at a Court to be held for Said County ye 4th. tuesday of Augt.
next to Answer unto Perigrine Browne of A plea of Trespass upon ye Case
Att which next Court vizt. ye 26. day of Augt. anno Domi. 1701 ye Day of ye returne of Sd.
writt came Elias King high Sherf. of Said County & Made returne thereof in these words
vizt.    cepi corpus    pr                                                    Elias King Sherf.
The which case was continued untill this present Court & now here at this day vizt. ye 23d
day of Sepr. Anno Domi. 1701 came ye Said Defendt. Edwd. Rush & confessed Judgemt.
