73) From the within named Thomas Cockey the Sum of one thousand and five hundred pounds Current Money being the full Consideration money within mentioned to be by him to me paid for the within Bargained and sold premisses and is in full for the same as Witness my hand Witness Baltimore County state of Maryland Be it Remembered that on the 19.th day of July one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty three before us the subscribers two of the state's Justices for the said County personally appeared the within named David Gist who acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed and the several parts parcels and Tracts of Land therein mentioned to be the right and Estate of the within named Thomas Cockey his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true intent and meaning of the within Written Deed and the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided Acknowledged Before John Moale Peter Shepherd Baltimore County to wit I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may Concern that John Moale and Peter Shepherd Gentlemen before whom the above Acknowledgment ws taken and who have hereto Subscribed their names were at the time of taking and signing thereof two Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid and to all Certificates by them Given as Such due faith and Credit is and Ought to be given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout In Testimony whereof I have to set my hand and Seal of Office (Seal) this 19.th day of July Seventeen hundred and Eighty three Recorded August 13.th 1783 William Gibson Clk B County 10¼ sides Sir Annapolis 18.th August 1783 You are hereby Required to Receive the Several Bonds agreeable to the above and foregoing List enter the same on the Records of the General Court and Issue process thereon agreeable to an Act of Assembly for an Emission of Bills of Credit not exceeding £200 000 & passed at May session 1781 Tho.s B Hodgkins Esq.r Tho.s Harwood THS Clk Gen.l Court In pursuance of which order the following Bonds are Recorded to wit Maryland sct Know all men by these presents that we Philip Fargusson of Baltimore County Richard Carns of S.t Marys County and Thomas Dyson of Charles County are held and firmly bound unto the state of Maryland in the full and Just sum of Nine hundred pounds Gold Currency to be paid to the said state of Maryland To the which payment well and Truly to be made and done We bind ourselves and each of us our and each of our Heirs Executors and Administrators Jointly and Severally firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seals dated this twentieth day of August Anno Domini One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty One The Condition of the above Obligation is Such that if the above bound Philip Fargusson do and shall well and Truly pay or Cause to be paid unto the Treasurer of the Western Shore for the time being the Just and full sum of four hundred and fifty pounds Currency in Gold and silver Rating |
