57 lands and premises therein named to be the right and Estate of the within mentioned Charles Carroll his heirs and Assigns according to the true intent and meaning of the said Indenture Francis Fairbrother W.m Hyde 24.th June 1783 Then received of the within named Charles Carroll of Carrollton the Consideration money within mentioned to wit the Sum of three thousand and forty two pounds Current money of Maryland Witness my hand Witness Edw.d Dorsey of Edw.d Thomas Rutland Recorded 27.th June 1783 Ex.d dld This Indenture made the twenty eighth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty three Between Thomas Johnson lately of the City of Annapolis now of Frederick County of the one part and John Davidson Major of the Maryland line of Continental Troops of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Johnson for and in Consideration of the Sum of two thousand five hundred and fifty pounds Current money to him in hand paid by the said John Davidson at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the Receit whereof he doth hereby acknowledge Hath granted bargained sold aliened released and confirmed And by these presents Doth grant bargain sell alien release and confirm unto the said John Davidson his heirs and Assigns for ever All that part of a Tract or parcel of land called Hampton Court beginning at the Beginning of the whole Tract and running with the first and second lines thereof to the end of the said second line from thence crossing the said whole Tract by a line drawn from the end of the said second line to the end of the fortieth line and from thence with the lines of the whole Tract in succession to the end of the fifty second line from thence crossing the whole Tract by a line drawn to strike the end of forty six perches on the Sixty fourth line and thence with the residue of that and the other lines of the whole Tract in succession to the beginning containing in the said part one thousand and ninety eight Acres more or less the said whole Tract containing seventeen hundred and ten Acres and lying in Ann Arundel and Baltimore Counties or one of those Counties Together with all appurtenances whatsoever to the said part hereby bargained and sold belonging And the revertion and revertions remainder and remainders Rents issues and profits thereof And all the Estate right title interest use trust possession property Claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Thomas Johnson of in or to the same and every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold the said part of the tract of Land aforesaid and premises with its rights members and Appurtenances to the said John Davidson his heirs and Assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said John Davidson his heirs and Assigns for ever and to or for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever And the said Thomas Johnson for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators doth hereby Covenant and grant to and with the said John Davidson his heirs and Assigns in manner following that is to say that he the said Thomas Johnson and his heirs the said part of the Tract of Land aforesaid and premises with its Appurtenances against him the said Thomas Johnson and his heirs and against all persons claiming by from or him them |
