       paid unto the State of Maryland the sum of Two hundred and seven pounds
       10/7 on or before the seventh day of October Seventeen hundred & Eighty four
       and the further sum of Two hundred and seven pounds ten shillings and
       seven pence on or before the seventh day of October seventeen hundred and
       eighty five and the further sum of Two hundred and seven pounds ten
       shillings & seven pence on or before the seventh day of October seventeen
       hundred and Eighty six in Gold or silver agreeable to the legal rates with
       legal Interest thereon then the above obligation to be void else to remain
       in full force and Virtue in Law

                                              Know all Men by these presents that
       we Thomas Nichols Tennison Cheshier and Benjamin Burch Cheshier
       of Saint Marys County are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland
       in the full and just sum of Three hundred and fifty seven pounds twelve
       shillings gold currency to be paid to the said State of Maryland to the which
       payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and each of us
       our and each of our heirs Executors and Administrators jointly and severally
       firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this eighteenth
       day of September Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and
       eighty one                     The Condition of the above obligation is such
       that if the above bound Thomas Nicholls do and shall well and truly
       pay or cause to be paid unto the Treasurer of the Western shore for the time
       being the just and full sum of one hundred and seventy eight Pounds
       fifteen shillings in Gold and Silver rating Milled Dollars at seven shillings
       and six pence and other Gold and Silver at the rates mentioned in an act entitled
       an act for the emission of Bills of Credit &c passed May Session 1784 or in
       Bills of Credit of the emission of the tenth of May 1784 to the actual value thereof
       in the proportions and on the days following to wit one third part thereof
       as aforesaid on or before the first day of September 1782 with legal Interest
