514) This Indenture made the twenty eighth day of June in the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and eighty five Between Thomas Usher of the County of Baltimore Merchant of the one part and John Sterrett of the same County Merchant of the other part Whereas Matthias Hammond of Ann Arundel County Gentleman being heretofore seised and possessed of the Tracts and parts of Tracts and parcels of Land situate and being in Ann Arundel County aforesaid herein after particularly described and being so thereof seised and possessed did by Indenture bearing date on or about the fourth day of March one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Thomas Usher his Heirs and Assigns forever the following Tracts parts of Tracts and parcels of Land lying on Elk Ridge in Ann Arundel County to wit Whitaker's Chance Steven's Forest except the part sold Bryce Howard by the said Matthias Hammond cost upon cost also all such parts of the Tract called the Angle as lyeth on the west side of Patuxent River also such part of the Tract of Land called the Addition alias Browns Addition as lyeth to the Southwestward Southward and South Eastward of the following courses Metes and bounds Beginning for the same at a bounded red oak being the second bounded Tree of said Land called the Addition alias Browns Addition also the second bounded Tree of Browns Forest and the beginning Tree of Dryers Inheritance and running thence South twenty five Degrees West forty four perches South fifty five Degrees West thirty eight perches South Eighty eight Degrees West thirty six perches South twelve Degrees West thirty perches to a bounded red oak of said Addition then North seventy one degrees West sixty perches to a bounded white oak of said Addition then North sixty eight and an half Degree West one hundred and twenty four Perches to a bounded Hickory of said Addition then South Sixty six Degrees West one hundred and two perches to a bounded white of said Land then South sixty five Degres West two hundred and seventy six perches to a bounded white oak of said Addition standing on a point in the Fork of the rich neck branch and called for at the end of the South ninety six perches original course of the whole Tract called the Addition aforesaid which said Tree being now down a Post is fixed in the place where stood the original bounded Tree aforesaid as fixed and agreed upon by the said Matthias Hammond and Rezin Hammond and the same to stand and remain as their mutual partition boundary and to which the South (sixty) |
