466) any public Warehouse or Warehouses where he is appointed to be Inspector and all other Tobacco he shall be called upon to view and Inspect and that he will not receive any Tobacco that is not in his Judgment sound well conditioned Merchantable and clear of Trash nor receive pass or stamp any Tobacco or Hogshead of Tobacco prohibited by an Act of Assembly entitled an Act for the regulation of the Staple of Tobacco and that he will receive pass and Stamp all Tobacco that is sound well conditioned Merchantable and clear of Trash and in all things well and faithfully discharge his Duty in the Office of an Inspector according to the best of his Skill and Judgment and according to the directions of the said Act without fear favour affection Malice or partiality and that he will in all things well and faithfully execute and perform the several Duties required of him by this Act then the above obligation to be Void otherwise to remain and be in full force power and virtue in Law Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of Charles Clagett (seal) Benj.a Oden John Read Magruder (seal) Roger Parke John Smith Brookes (seal) On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Written Viz.t Prince Georges County Sc.t October 31.st 1785 Then came Benjamin Oden & Roger Parks the two Subscribing Witnesses to the within Bond and made Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that they were present when the within Charles Clagett John Read Magruder & John Smith Brookes signed Sealed and Delivered the within Bond and at their request signed their names as Witnesses thereto Sworn Before Sam.l Hepburn Recorded December the 21.st 1785 Know all Men by these presents that we George Hilleary Daniel Clarke & William Sprigg Bowie of Prince Georges County are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just Quantity of Forty thousand pounds of Tobacco to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind our selves and every of us our and every of our Heirs Executors and Administrators in the whole and for the whole Jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our Seals and dated this Seventeenth day of November Anno Domini Seventeen hundred and eighty five The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound George Hilleary shall and will diligently and carefully View and examine all Tobacco brought to any public Warehouse or Warehouses where he is appointed to be Inspector and all other Tobacco shall be called upon to View and Inspect and that he will not receive any Tobacco that is not in his Judgment sound well conditioned (Merchantable) |
