463) further nor otherwise will for ever warrant and Defend And further the aforesaid Elizabeth Bordley desires & Agrees that this her grant be taken in the most extensive view In Witness whereof the said Elizabeth Bordley hath hereunto set her hand and Seale the Day and Year above written Sealed and Delivered in presence of Elizabeth Bordley (seal) Susannah Beard R Goldsborough Jun.r On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Written (to wit) On the second day of November 1785 before me Robert Goldsborough Esquire one of the Judges of the General Court in Maryland Elizabeth Bordley Party within Named Acknowledged the within Indenture to be her act and Deed 3¼ sides R Goldsborough Jun.r Recorded December the 17.th 1785 Know all Men by these presents that we John Baden Son of Thomas and Thomas Baden of Prince Georges County are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and just Quantity of Forty thousand pounds of Tobacco To which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and every of us our and every of our Heirs Executors and Administrators in the whole and for the whole Jointly and severally firmly by these presents Sealed with our seals and Dated this twenty third Day of September Anno Domini Seventeen hundred and Eighty five The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound John Baden of Thomas shall and will diligently and carefully view and examine all Tobacco brought to any public Warehouse or Warehouses where he is appointed to be Inspector and all other Tobacco he shall be called upon to view and Inspect and that he will not receive any Tobacco that is not in his Judgement Sound well Conditioned Merchantable and clear of Trash nor receive pass or stamp any Tobacco or Hogshead of Tobacco prohibited by an act of assembly entitled an act for the regulation of the Staple of Tobacco and that he will receive pass and stamp all Tobacco that is sound well conditioned Merchantable and clear of Trash and in all things well and faithfully discharge his Duty in the office of an Inspector according to the best of his Skill and Judgement and according to the directions of the said act without Fear Favour Affection Mallice or partiality and that he will in all things well and faithfully execute and perform the several Duties required of him by this act then the above obligation to be Void otherwise to remain and be in full force and Virtue in Law Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of John Baden of Tho.s (seal) John Grahame Rob.t Baden Tho.s Baden (seal) On the back of the aforegoing Bond was thus Written Viz.t (Prince) |
