       The State of Maryland Montgomery County to wit
                          Know all Men by these presents that we Hezekiah Magruder
       Ninian Magruder & Jn.o Peter all of the county aforesaid are held and firmly bound
       unto the State of Maryland in the full and just sum or Quantity of Forty pounds of
       Tobacco to be paid to the said State to which payment well and truly to be made we
       bind ourselves our and each of our heirs Executors and Administrators Jointly and
       severally in and for the whole firmly by these presents sealed with our seales and dated
       this 25.th day of September one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five

                                  The Condition of this obligation is that if the above Hezekiah
       Magruder will Diligently and carefully view and Examine all Tobacco brought to
       any public warehouse or warehouses whereof he is appointed to be Inspector and all
       other Tobacco he shall be called upon to view and Inspect and that he will not receive any
       Tobacco that is not in his Judgment sound well conditioned Merchantable and clear
       of Trash nor receive pass or stamp any Tobacco or Hhds of Tobacco prohibited by an
       act of assembly Entitled an act for the regulation of the Staple of Tobacco and that he will
       receive and pass and Stamp all Tobacco that is sound well conditioned Merchantable
       and clear of Trash and in all things well and faithfully discharge his duty in the
       office of an Inspector according to the best of his skill and judgment and according to
       the direction of the said Act without Fear Favor Affection Mallace or partiality
       and that he will in all things well and faithfully execute and perform the several
       duties required of him by the said act then this obligation to be void and of no Effect
       otherwise to remain in full force

       On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Written Viz

       Named Hezekiah Magruder John Peter & Ninian Magruder Execute this
       Bond & that the said Hezekiah Magruder Qualified as Inspector at
       George Town Whear House agreeable to Law
