404) State of Maryland Know all men by these presents that we Henry Hunt Gavin Hamilton Smith and Peter Hellen are held and firmly bound unto the State aforesaid in the full and just sum Five Thousand Pounds Current Money of the State aforesaid to be paid to the said State and for which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind our selves our Heirs Executors and Administrators for the whole and in the whole Jointly and severally firmly by these presents Seald with our Seals and dated this twentififth day of April Anno 1785 The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bounden Henry Hunt shall well and faithfully Execute and perform the several duties required of him as Collector of the Tax for Calvert County according to Law then the above obligation to be void Else to remain in full force and Virtue in Law Signed Seal'd and Deliver'd Henry Huntt (seal) in the presence of Gavin Ham.n Smith (seal) Jo Wilkinson Tho.s Mackatee Peter Hellen (seal) Joseph Blake Recorded 5.th August 1785 S.d 77 Words This Indenture made this Fourteenth day of May in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and Eighty five Between Richard Lee of Charles County in the State of Maryland Esquire of the one part and William Brown of the City of Annapolis Gentleman of the other part Witnesseth that the said Richard Lee for and in consideration of the sum of One thousand and sixty pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain to him in hand paid by the said William Brown at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said Richard Lee the doth hereby acknowledge hath granted Bargained and Sold aliened released enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents City of Annapolis now in the Tenure and occupation of the said William Brown Beginning at a Locust post standing on the East side of North East Street and on the North side of Scotch Street at the intersection of the said North East and Scotch Streets and running with Scotch Street one hundred and seventy five feet and an half foot to an other Locust Post then running a parallel Line with North East Street to the river Severn then binding on and with the said River to the aforesaid North East Street then with the said Street to the Beginning together with all and singular the Dwelling House out Houses ware house and other Improvements to the same belonging or in any manner appurtaining and the revertion and revertions remainder and remainders rents Issues and profits thereof and all the Estate right Title Interest use trust possession property claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Richard Lee of in and to the portion of Ground contained within the above Lines To have and To hold the said piece parcel or portion of Ground and the Buildings Hereditaments and Appurtenances to the same belonging to the said William Brown his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and benefit and behoof of the said William Brown his heirs and Assigns for ever and to and for no other use Interest or purpose whatever And the said Richard Lee doth hereby for himself and his heirs covenant grant and agree to and with the said William Brown his Heirs and Assigns to warrant and defend to him and them the piece (parcel) |
