(385 Nicholas Boswell now lives in the said County and the Land and Plantation adjoining George Darby and now under Rent to him in the said County Together with Lands Tennaments in another part or parts of his the said James Brookes Estate and by his last will and Testament devised unto the said Elizabeth and to be laid off or allotted her by Richard Thomas his Trustee and Measured by Francis Deakins his Surveyor Appointed by his will for that purpose with all woods ways waters and water Courses Houses out Houses Edifices and Buildings Yards Gardens Orchards Heireditaments and Appurtenances thereon being or thereunto belonging together with all Deeds Evidences and writings touching or in any wise Concerning the same To Have and To Hold all and Singular the premises together with the Appurtenances unto the said John Thomas his Heirs and Assigns to the only proper use and behooff of him the said John Thomas his Heirs and Assigns for Ever And the said Thomas Pleasants and Elizabeth his wife for themselves their Heirs Executors and Administrators do Covenant to and with the said John Thomas and his Heirs all and singular the hereby granted Premises together with the Appurtenances unto the said John Thomas his Heirs and Assigns against the claim and demand of them the said Thomas and Elizabeth Pleasants their Heirs Executors and Administrators and against the claim and demand of all and every other person whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part or parcell thereof shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these Presents In Witness whereof the said Thomas Pleasants and Elizabeth his wife have hereunto set their Hands and Affixed their Seals the day and year first above Written Sealed and Delivered Tho Pleasants (Seal) in presence of Edw.d Burgess Eliz.a Pleasants (Seal) Joseph Wilson On the back of the foregoing Deed It was thus Written viz.t Received this 8.th day of December 1784 of Thomas Pleasant and Elizabeth Pleasant the just and full Sum of ten thousand Pounds Current Money in full for the within mentioned Land and premises Tho Pleasants Witness Eliz.a Pleasants Edw.d Burgess Joseph Wilson Montgomery County December 8.th 1784 Came the within named Thomas Pleasent & Elizabeth Pleasent before us the Subscribers two of the Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be their Act and Deed and the Lands and Premises therein expressed to be the right and Estate of him the said John Thomas his Heirs and Assigns for Ever according to the true intent and meaning of the same Deed and the act of assembly in such Cases made and provided At the same time Elizabeth the wife of him the said Thomas Pleasants being by us privately examined out of the hearing of her said Husband acknowledged her right of Dower to the within mentioned Lands to be the Estate of him the said John Thomas his Heirs and Assigns for Ever and with all declared she did the same freely and willingly without being compelled thereto by any threats from her said Husband or for fear of his displeasure Edw.d Burgess Joseph Wilson |
