312 Ann Arundel County fs.t 29.th Day of January 1785 Then came Joseph Wilkins and Onner his Wife before us two of the Justices for the County aforesaid and the said Joseph Wilkins acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed and the piece or parcel of Ground within mentioned to be the right Estate and Property of the within named John Callahan and his Heirs And the said Onner being Examined apart and out of the hearing and Presence of her said Husband also acknowledged that she Relinquished her Right of Dower to the within Land and gave her Consent to the Execution thereof and made this acknowledgement wittingly and freely and without being induced thereto by fear or threats of or ill usage by her Husband or fear of his Displeasure Allen Quynn Francis Fairbrother Recorded this 29.th day of January 1785 dd To M.r Ja.s Brice This Indenture made the Twenty Eight day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty four between Nicholas Carroll Jacob Hurst Charles Wallace Joseph Williams Thomas Harwood John Davidson James Mackubin and James Williams of the City of Annapolis Gentlemen of the one part and the Mayor Recorder Aldermen and common Council of the City of Annapolis of the other part Witnesseth that the said Nicholas Carroll Jacob Hurst Charles Wallace Joseph Williams Thomas Harwood John Davidson James Mackubin and James Williams for and in Consideration of the Sum of five shillings Sterling to them in hand Paid by the said Mayor Recorder Aldermen and common Council of the City of Annapolis the Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged have Granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed released and confirmed and by these Presents the said Nicholas Carroll Jacob Hurst Charles Wallace Joseph Williams Thomas Harwood John Davidson James Mackubin and James Williams do Grant Bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Mayor Recorder Aldermen and common Council of the City of Annapolis and their successors forever all that Portion or Parcel of Ground lying and being in the City of Annapolis at the head of the Dock beginning at a Post standing at the North East Corner of M.r James Williams's House and running South forty Degrees West three hundred and ninety two feet and a half foot till it Intersects the line of Church |
