265 Hill on the West side of Old Town Creek about six Perches from the said Creek and runing thence North eighty seven Degrees East one hundred and thirty eight Perches North thirty five Degrees East fifty five Perches North sixty Degrees West one hundred and thirty four Perches south eighty one Degrees West seventy four Perches South thirty one and a half Degrees west one hundred Perches then by a Strait Line to the Beginning containing one hundred and ten Acres of Land To have and to Hold the the said Part of a Tract of Land to him the said John Lashley his Heirs and Assigns to the only Proper use and behoof of him the said John Lashley his Heirs and Assigns forever and to or for no other use Intent or purpose Whatsoever and the said John Courts Jones for himself and his Heirs Doth hereby Covenant and grant Promise and agree to and with the said John Lashley his Heirs and Assigns that he the said John Courts Jones and his Heirs shall and will warrant and Defend the ^said^ Bargained Parcel of Land to him the said John Lashley his Heirs and Assigns forever against all manner of Persons claiming by from or under him or any other Person Whatsoever In Witness whereof the said John Courts Jones hath hereunto set his Hand and Seal the Day and Year above Written Sealed and Delivered In the presence of John Ct.s Jones (Seal) A C Hanson On the back of the aforegoing Deed was Endorsed as follows to wit Received the 16.th Day of December 1783 of John Lashley the Consideration within Mentioned Test A C Hanson J C Jones Maryland to wit on the 16.th Day of December 1783 Appeared before me One of the Judges of the General Court John Courts Jones and Acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act and Deed and the Land and Premisses therein Mentioned to be the right and 5 sides Estate of the within John Lashley his Heirs and Assigns for ever A C Hanson Recorded 20.th Nov.r 1784 Ex.d & Dld This Indenture made the twenty fourth Day of July in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty four Between William Deakins of Montgomery County in the State of Maryland of the one Part and John Courts Jones of the County and State aforesaid of the other Part Witnesseth that the said William Deakins for and in Consideration of the sum of five shillings to him in hand paid at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged and also for divers other Causes and Considerations hath given granted Bargained and sold and by these Presents doth give grant bargain and sell to the said John Courts Jones all that Tract or Parcel of Land called Horsepasture lying in Washington County Beginning at a bounded White Oak Standing near and on the East side of a bridle path leading from John Grimes to Marsham Deans on old Town Creek and running thence South (thirty) |
