222 Own proper risk without any Recourse to the said Richard Lee his heirs Executors or Administrators or the heirs Executors or Administrators of the said Philip Thomas Lee In witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and affixed their Seals the day and year first above written Richd Lee (seal) Signed Sealed & Delivered Jon.a Sellman Jun.r (seal) In presents of J Parnham B Fendall On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Indorsed to wit Received on the day and year first within written of and from the within named Jonathan Sellman Junior the Consideration within mentioned being the sum of eight hundred and Sixty Six pounds four Shillings Sterling Richd Lee Witness J Parnham B Fendall Maryland sc.t Charles County On the twenty ninth day of June 1784 came before the Subscribers two of the Justices of the Peace for the County afores.d the within named Richard Lee Administrator of Philip Thomas Lee and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed & the Lands and Premises Negroes Stock furniture and Effects therein mentioned and referred to to be the right title and Estate of the within named Jonathan Sellman Junior his heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true intent and meaning thereof J Parnham B Fendall Maryland Charles County to wit I hereby Certify that the above mentioned John Parnham and Benjamin Fendall Gentlemen before whom the above acknowledgment appears to have been made and who have subscribed their Names thereto were at the time of the taking and County Subscribing the same and now are two of the State of Maryland Justices of the peace Seal for the County aforesaid Legally authorised and Assigned to whom due faith and Credit is and ought to be given to all acknowledgements by them so taken and signed as well in Justice Court as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the Public Seal of my Office this thirtieth Day of June Anno Dom 1784 Jn.o Gwinn Clk Char Cy 11 sides Recorded the 7.th July 1784 By the United States in Congress Assembled A Proclamation Whereas in pursuance of a plenipotentiary commission given on the 20.th day of September 1782 to the honorable Benjamin Franklin a treaty of amity and commerce between his majesty the King of Sweden and the United States of America was on the third day of April 1783 concluded by the said Benjamin Franklin with a minister plenipotentiary named for the purpose by the said King and Whereas the said Treaty hath been duly approved and retified by the United States in Congress Assembled and translation thereof made in the words following to wit (A treaty) |
