215 Premises and every part thereof and all the Estate right Title Interest Claim and Demand whatsoever of her the said Mary Jackson of in and to the said Tract of Land and every part thereof either in Law or Equity To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of land called Charlemont with all the Improv^e^ments and Appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any manner or wise whatsoever Appertaining unto him the said David Jackson his Heirs and Assigns for ever and the said Mary Jackson for herself her heirs Executors & Administrators doth Covenant and grant to and with the said David Jackson his heirs and Assigns by these presents that he the said David Jackson his Heirs and Assigns shall and Lawfully may from hence forth and for ever hereafter peaceably and quietly have hold occupy possess and enjoy the aforesaid Tract or parcel of Land Called Charlemont together with all the Improvements and Appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any manner or Wise whatsoever appertaining hereby given granted bargained and Sold aliened enfeoffed and Confirmed free Clear and discharged from all former and other gifts Grants bargains & sales Alienations enfeoffments and Confirmations and of and from all other Titles Troubles Charges & Incumbrances had committed done or suffered by her the said Mary Jackson or to be had committed done or suffered by her the said Mary Jackson her heirs Executors or Administrators or any other person or persons lawfully claiming or to Claim by from or under her them or any or either of them In Witness whereof the party to these presents hath hereunto set her hand and affixed her seal the day and year above written her Signed Sealed and Delivered Mary (S) Jackson (seal) in presence of Mark John Cellar Joseph Chapline On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Indorsed to wit Received on the fifteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and eighty four of the within named David Jackson the sum of five Shillings Current money it being the Consideration of Money within mentioned as witness my Hand her Witness Mary (S) Jackson John Cellar Mark Joseph Chapline On the fifteenth Day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty four came before us the subscribers Two of the Justices of the peace for the Washington County the within named Mary Jackson and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be her act and Deed & the Land and premises therein mentioned to be the right and Estate of the within named David Jackson his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true intent and meaning thereof 6 sides and according to the act of Assembly in such case made and provided John Cellar Recorded 8.th June 1784 Joseph Chapline Ex.d & dl.d This Indenture made this twelfth Day of December in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred and eighty three Between Richard Ponsonby of Bladensburgh in Prince Georges County in the State of Maryland Merchant of the one Part and John Steinmetz & William Bell of the City and County of Philadelphia in the State of Pennsylvania Merchants of the other part Whereas the said Richard Ponsonby and the said John Steinmetz and William Bell have recounted together of and concerning divers mercantile Transactions & dealings heretofore between them had and have adjusted and liquidated in part the balance due on such Account on which partial Adjustment the said Richard Ponsonby is found to be justly indebted to the said John Steinmetz and William Bell in the Quantity of seven hundred and thirty two Thousand pounds weight of Merch^n^table Inspected Crop Tobacco Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Richard Ponsonby for and in Consideration thereof and for securing the payment of the said Quantity of Tobacco & all and every such further & other Sum and Sums of money or Quantity of Tobacco as shall n a more full and Complete Settlement of the above Recited Dealings be found due and Justly owing to the said John Steinmetz & William Bell (Hath) |
