207 Thousand seven hundred and Eighty four Signed Sealed and Delivered John Cross (seal) in the presence of And Wiesenthal Rich.d Frazier Rich.d Maccubbin Recorded 4.th May 1784 Ex.d Know all men by these presents that we Richard Harwood Jun.r Doct.r Thomas Noble Stockett and William Harwood all of Ann Arundel County Gentlemen are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the full and Just sum of Seventeen thousand Pounds Current money to the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and each of us our heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns firmly by these presents for and in the whole Sealed with our Seals and dated this third Day of May One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty four The Condition of the Above Obligation is such that if the above bound Richard Harwood Jun.r shall well and faithfully Execute and perform the several Duties required of him as Collector of the tax for Ann Arundel County according to Law then the above obligation to be Void else to remain in full force Signed Sealed and Delivered Richard Harwood Jun.r (seal) in the presence of T N Stockett (seal) Jn.o Brice W.m Hall 3.d W.m Harwood (seal) Edw.d Gaither Recorded 6.th May 1784 Ex.d dl.d & p.d Know all men by these presents that I Francis Deakins of Ann Arundel County and State of Maryland for and in Consideration of the Love good will and Natural Affection which I have and do bear unto my Loving Niece and God Daughter Elizabeth Hoye Daughter of Paul Hoye of Washington County and State aforesaid Hath Given Granted and by these presents do freely and absolutely Give and Grant unto her the said Elizabeth Hoye her Heirs and Assigns for ever all that Lot of Ground in the Town of Skipton in Washington County being known in the plot or Survey of the said Town by Lot Number One Together with all advantages Rights profits and Improv^e^ments thereunto belonging or in any wise Appurtaining To have and to hold the Said Lot of Ground and premises with all its Appurtenances unto her the said Elizabeth Hoye her Heirs And Assigns for ever and for no other use intent or purpose Whatsoever According to the true Intent and meaning of these present In Witness whereof the said Francis Deakins Hath hereunto Set his hand and Seal this Sixth day of May One Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty four Signed Sealed and Delivered Francis Deakins (seal) in the presence of A C Hanson On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus written (Viz.t) Maryland sc.t then Came Francis Deakins before me and Acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed And the Land And premisses therein mentioned to be the right title and Estate of her the within named Elizabeth Hoye her Heirs And Assigns for ever According to the true Intent and meaning therein Expressed & An Act of Assembly in Such Cases made and Provided Acknowledged before the Subscriber one of the Judges of the Recorded 6.th May 1784 General Court May 7.th 1784 A C Hanson |
