162 Unto the said Thomas Whittington his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns as the Council Learned in the Law of the same Thomas Whittington his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns shall reasonably Advise devise or require In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto Interchangeably set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written Signed Sealed and Delived Samuel Lewin (Seal) in the presence off the words (and by these presents Doth Give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff and Confirm in the Seventh line (and the words (as the same runneth in the Eleventh line being first interlined Sam Harrison Richard Harrison The aforegoing Deed was thus Indorsed Ann Arundel County fs April 9.th 1783 Came the within Named Samuel Lewin and Acknowledged the within deed to be his Act & Deed for the Use of the within Named Thomas Whittington his Heirs and Assigns for ever Agreeable to the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided also Came Mary the wife of the said Samuel Lewin who being privately Examined out of the hearing of her Husband and Acknowledged her consent to the within Deed and Declared that she did the same freely of her Own Accord without being induced thereto by the threats of her Husband or fear of his Displeasure agreeable to the Act of Assembly made and provided in such Cases Sam Harrison Richard Harrison April 9.th 1783 Received of Thomas Whittington Sixty thousand weight of Crop Tobacco being the Consideration of the within Deed Samuel Lewin Sep.r 22.d 1783 Came Elizabeth Lewin Mother of the said Samuel Lewin and being Examined by Us the Subscribers two ^of^ the Justices of the Peace for A Arn.l County and Acknowledged that she gave Up all right of Dower Jointure or any other right whatsoever she had or any ways might have to the said Land and premisses by the within Deed bargained and Sold to be the Estate of the within Named Thomas Whittington and his Assigns forever Richard Harrison Recorded 4.th October 1783 Tho.s Tongue Maryland fs Know all Men by these presents That I Thomas Rutland of Ann Arundel County Gentleman for Divers Good Causes and Considerations me hereunto moveing Have made Ordained Authorized ^Nominated^ and Appointed Gabril Duvall of the City of Annapolis in the County aforesaid Attorney at Law my true and Lawfull Attorney for me and in my Name And for my Own Proper Use and Benefit to Ask Demand Sue for recover and receive of and from all and every person and persons all and every such Sum and Sums of Money as now are or at any Time or Times hereafter dureing my absence from this State and for such length of time after my Return as shall be Necessary for Settling and Compleating the |
