730 Received the Day of the Date of the within Deed of Oliver Mathews the Sum of two hundred and twenty six Pounds nineteen Shillings current Money it being the Consideration ^Money^ within mentioned Witness Susannah Johns Philip Th.s Lee Received from Oliver Mathews the Sum of fourteen Shilling and five Pence Sterling being the Alienation Fine due on the within land to the Lord Proprietary by Virtue of a Commission from Daniel of S.t Thomas Jenifer Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General 6 Sides J Brice Recorded 26.th September 1774 Ex.d This Indenture made this twenty seventh Day of September in the Year of our Lord seventeen hundred and seventy four between Richard Potts of the City of Annapolis in the Province of Maryland of the one Part and Michael Arthur of the Parish of Saint Michael in the Island of Barbados Planter of the other Part witnesseth that the said Richard Potts for and in Consideration of the Sum of ninety five Pounds current Money of the Island of Barbados aforesaid to him in hand paid by the said Michael Arthur at or before the Sealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath granted bargained sold aliened released and confirmed and by these Presents doth grant bargain sell alien release and confirm unto him the said Michael Arthur his heirs and Assigns forever all that one undivided fifth Part of a certain Peice or Parcel of Land containing by Estimation three Thousand and four square Feet with the Messuage or Tenement and other Buildings thereon erected and built and also one undivided fifth Part of one other certain Peice or Parcel of Land containing by Estimation nineteen hundred and forty seven Square feet contiguous and adjoining to the aforesaid Peice or Parcel of Land both which Peices or Parcels of Land are situated in Bridge Town in the Parish and Island aforesaid in two certain Streets or Places there called Palmetto Street and Mart Hill Street butting and bounding on the Lands and Buildings of the Honorable John Frese Esquire lately deceased and of Mary Coats Widow deceased together with all Ways, Waters, Water Courses Priviledges Advantages and Appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereof and of every Part and Parcel thereof and all the Estate Right Title Interest Use Trust Possession Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Richard Potts of in or to the same to have and to hold the said said undivided fifth Part of the said Peices or Parcels of Land and Premises with their Rights Members and Appurtenances to him the said Michael Arthur his heirs and Assigns to the only proper Use and Behoof of him the said Michael Arthur his heirs and Assigns forever and to or for no other Use Intent or Purpose whatsoever And the said Richard Potts for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators doth covenant grant and agree to and with the said Michael Arthur his heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns that he the said Richard Potts his Heirs Executors and Administrators shall and will at any Time hereafter at the reasonable request Costs and Charges in the Land of the aforesaid ^Michael^ Arthur his Heirs or Assigns make do suffer acknowledge and execute all such Deed and Deeds Conveyance or Conveyances Assurance or (Assurances) |
