(728) On the Eighteenth day of May in the Year Seventeen Hundred and Seventy four appeared before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships pro Justices of the Peace for Ann Arundel County the within named Nathan Waters party to the within Deed and also Catherine Waters the wife of the same Nathan and acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be the Act and ^&^ Deed of the same Nathan & the Lands therein to be the right and Estate of the within Elizabeth Maclelan her heirs and assigns & that freed and discharged from all right or Title of Dower of the same Catherine Waters & I hereby Certify that at the Time of Taking the same acknowledged of the Same Cathene Waters I examined her privately out of the Hearing of the her Said husband & she then declared she made her acknowledgement of the same willingly & freely & without being Induced thereto by fear or Threats of or ill usage by her said Husband or fear of his displeasure Tho.s Brooke Hodgkin W.m Steuart 12 Sides Received from Elizabeth McClelan the sum of One Halfpenny Sterling being the Allination fine due to the Lord Proprietary by Virtue of a Commission from Daniel of St Thomas Jenifer Esq.r his Lordships Agent and receiver General J Brice |
