569) Witnesses to the Execution of the within Instrument of Writing purporting to be a Release given by Hugh Roberts to Frederick Haldimand and did respectively depose declare and say that they were personally present and did see Hugh Roberts in the within written Indenture named seal and as his Act and Deed deliver the same And that the Names of these Appearers thereunder subscribed as Witnesses thereof [illegible] of these appearers own several and respective hand Writing At the same time also appeared before me the said Mayor the said Hugh Roberts and acknowledged the within written Indenture to be his Act according to the Act of Assembly of the Province of Maryland in purchase made and provided 4½ sides In Testimony whereof I the said Mayor have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of Mayoralty of the said city to be hereunto affixed the day and year abovesaid John Gibson Mayor (L S) Recorded 6.th of November 1773 x.d This Indenture made this sixth day of November in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy three Between Frederick Haldimand at present of the City of New York in the Province of New York Esquire and Major General in his Majesty's Army of the one part and Joseph Sprigg of Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland Gentleman of the other Part Witnesseth That the said Frederick Haldimand for and in consideration of the Sum of five thousand two hundred and fifty Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain to him in hand paid at or before the ensealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents Doth grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto him the said Joseph Sprigg his Heirs and Assigns for ever all those several Tracts or parcels of Land hereafter mentioned that is to say Long Meadow enlarged including the original Tract so called containing in the original two thousand one hundred and thirty one Acres or thereabouts and in the Resurvey thereof by Colonel Henry Bouquet still called by same Name containing four thousand one hundred and sixty three acres more or less pleasant spring granted to John Wrench containing one hundred acres of Land more or less small spring containing fifty Acres of Land more or less and all other Lands belonging to the said Frederick Haldimand by devise from said Henry Boquet or otherwise lying adjacent or contiguous to the Lands above particularly mentioned Together with all and singular the houses Buildings Improvements Profits Commodities Advantages and Appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Remainder & Remainders Reversion and Reversions Rents Issues and Profits thereof and of every Part and Parcel thereof and also all the Estate Right Title Interest Claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Frederick Haldimand of in and to the said Tracts of (Land) |
